The best advice I got was "measure twice, cut once" that came from my dad. I think that's good advice. And he said it a lot, so much so that it made its' way into my head. My day and I spend our time making Lego models. He also really liked computers. He bought my first piece of software. One day I found 3D animation software in a PC Magazine my dad had that I wanted to try. I couldn't download it because my internet connection was too slow, so my dad downloaded it for me at work. Another time, we were in a shop when I saw a "C for Dummies" book and asked him to buy for me. He did. I was so excited. To me that book was like magic. Now I'd say, his sage advice is akin to "always test your code" in the context of my industry.
Favorite books i highly recommend:
- Children of Time - Adrian Tchaikovsky
- The Colour of Magic - Terry Pratchett
- The Quantum Magician - Derek Kunsken
